FBRI : Hello Jarred! We are very glad to have you and your team mates participating in Figueira Beach Rugby 10th Edition! Tell us a bit about who the SA Wild Dogs are!

Jarred : Thank you Rui, we are really excited to be competing in such a fantastic tournament and even more so that it marks the 10th anniversary of the event. The SA Wild Dogs journey started only a short while ago in 2017 but has since seen incredible growth and great success. We are a distinctive, Invitational Expat 7s & Beach Rugby team that mostly consists of players whose roots originally stem from various parts of Southern Africa including Zimbabwe, Malawi, Namibia & South Africa. Fundamentally, the SA Wild Dogs are a family of players, who want to spread their love of the game in competitions that fans love and to build a global community of sportsmanship, team work and enjoyment both on and off the rugby field.

FBRI: What are your expectations about the tournament?

Jarred : Firstly, we are really looking forward to seeing all our brothers and sisters from all the other nations and teams taking part, but as it is the Final showdown in the EBRA series and the final tournament in our calendar for the year we would love to finish the year off in style being crowned victors of the tournament and walk away with that Winners trophy! :)

FBRI : Which message you would like to sent out to everyone who will be joining you during the Figueira Beach Rugby?

Jarred : On behalf of the team, we would like to say thank you to all of our Supporters, Families, Wives, Girlfriends, Players and Sponsors. Without all of the above-mentioned people, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve what we have in such a short space of time. We feel very fortunate to have such loyal supporters, many of whom travel with us and such supportive families, Wives & Girlfriends who put up with us over the Summer months while we travel to compete in the various tournaments. Thank you to our players for continuously putting their bodies on the line and for representing us, our culture and what we stand for everywhere we go. And of course a big thank you to all of our sponsors, The Pig & Whistle, Windhoek UK, Fines Master Gin, Physio Edge, VII Travel, Sable International & Uncle Beef for all of your support and belief in us and for allowing us to go out and enjoy what we love to do. We hope we can make you all proud by going out and playing an exciting brand of rugby and bring home some silverware!!
